A Workshop on Operational Issues – Deposits & Services was conducted for the clerks, Officers & Accountants of MCC Bank Ltd., on 22nd & 23rd June,2024, at the Staff Training Centre, Administrative Office, Mangalore, with a theme of “Improving Efficiency of Staff at the Branches”.
The Workshop was inaugurated by the chairman, Mr Anil Lobo, by lighting the lamp.
In his keynote address, he stressed upon the need for such workshops. He opined that as the customer plays a pivotal role in the growth of the bank, it is necessary that the staff members should have strong knowledge on Banking to satisfy the needs of the customers without any delay or hassle. The workshop will help the staff members to improve their efficiency in rendering service to the customers. The satisfied customers will always be our brand ambassadors who promote the development of the Bank. He emphasized with illustration that, in the present competitive world it is necessary to upgrade knowledge, as it plays a vital role in our day to day life.
He called upon the participants to take full advantage of the work shop and to improve their efficiency in work; which will reduce the work load and dependency at the work place. He said that some of selected members of the staff who have been trained are selected to conduct the workshop.
Mr S.H. Visweswaraiah, Advisor, Mrs Shainy Lasrado, Credit Officer, Founders Branch and Mrs Karen Crasta, Accountant, Kankanady Branch were the resource persons for the work shop.
The main topics of the workshop were Overview of Savings Deposits, Current Accounts, Term Deposits, Safe Deposit Lockers, remittances, Policies pertaining to nomination, AML, KYC and settlement of claims of the deceased constituents, GST, TDS, Cash, and ATM & Mobile Banking as well as practical sessions in Core Banking Solutions (CBS) especially pertaining to day to day operations in the Branch.
The ATM and Mobile Banking session was conducted by Ms Aslita Pinto, Junior Assistant, IT Section.
The participants who took active part in the Work shop were felicitated.
In the concluding session, chairman, Mr Anil Lobo, called upon the participants to implement the points which have been learnt during the workshop. He advised the participants to handle their work independently and to escalate the CBS related issues on daily basis to the IT section to enable to get the issues resolved without any delay and also advise the vendors for improvement of the applications in the software. He appreciated the efforts off all concerned and thanked the resource persons for the successful conduct of workshop.
The interactive session was conducted by the General Manager, Mr Sunil Menezes who shared his inputs during the work shop. Mr Raj F. Menezes, Deputy General Manager, was also present during the workshop.
Advisor Mr S.H. Visweswaraiah while thanking the Chairman told the participants that the workshop is the brain child of the Chairman who is always eager to implement innovative ideas in the functioning of the Bank. The resource persons Mrs Shiny Lasrado and Mrs Karen Crasta shared their views on the workshop.
General Manager Mr Sunil Menezes rendered the vote of thanks. Mr Deril J. lasrado, Senior Manager (Recovery) compered the program.
All the participants actively participated in the workshop.
