The MCC Bank Ltd, a premier Urban Co.operative Bank in the coastal region of Karnataka launched the Yashaswini Scheme on 2nd December, 2022 at Staff Training Centre, M.C.C. Bank Ltd, Mangalore. The scheme was launched by N.J.Gopal, Superintendent, Office of Dy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, D.K.District, Mangalore.  

He said that the Karnataka government has decided to revive the Yeshasvini health protection scheme for members of cooperative societies as per the 2022-23 budgetary commitment earmarking Rs 300 crore. The registration for the scheme was launched on 1st November 2022 to mark Kannada Rajyothava.

The scheme, which was launched in 2003, was in effect up to 2017-18 through the Cooperative Department. The same year it was merged with the Arogya Karnataka scheme. The scheme is now being implemented through the Cooperative Department across 30 districts in the state of Karnataka. The scheme will be operative from 01.01.2023 to 31.12.2023. Beneficiaries can avail a maximum of Rs 5 lakh per annum in any Yeshasvini network hospitals recognised by the government.  

A Training Programme on Yashaswini Scheme was also conducted for the staff members of MCC Bank during the occasion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

General Manager Sunil Menezes welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person N.J.Gopal, Superintendent, Office of Dy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, D.K.District, Mangalore. In his introductory speech he requested the staff to mobilize the Yashaswini Scheme among the members of the Bank.

He briefly explained the benefits of the Yashaswini Scheme and informed that the Yashaswini is a scheme of Government of Karnataka and it is not a Medical Insurance. He clarified the difference of Ayushuman Bharath Scheme and Yashaswini Scheme. The Beneficiaries can avail Medical Services mainly for surgery, treatment and OPD in the Network Hospitals including Private Hospitals. As Head office of M.C.C. Bank falls within the jurisdiction of Mangalore City Corporation the members for Yashaswini Scheme of M.C.C. Bank should be considered as Urban Beneficiaries.  

He also gave a thorough knowledge of filling the Application Form of Yashaswini Scheme.  The doubts and apprehensions of the participants were clarified.  
The Target for the branches for Yashaswini Scheme was announced and all the participants were called upon to actively involve themselves in enrolling members as beneficiaries for this scheme.  

Senior Manager of M.C.C. Bank Deril Lasrado was present during the occasion.
